Girls like to design media
The last chapter in the JIM-study 2004 is about the practical experience of adolescents in the media context. Here the study reports a highly distinctive activity of teenage girls in the field of video and audio editing, in creating radio drama or designing a newspaper. Expressing surprise, the chapter closes with the notion that a striking number of teenage girls and young women also articulate a more intense wish for a self standing and active collaboration in all kinds of media than boys.
